Varnum Law Firm

Law firm on the fifth floor of Federal Reserve Building in Detroit, Michigan.
Project completed as a member of the ROSSETTI design team

This well established Michigan law firm's newest office is located in the middle of the Detroit business district in the Federal Reserve Building. The renovated space includes open and private workspace which can transform into an entertainment event space. The layout places private offices on interior spine of the space with open office and communal spaces along the windows, clearly diverging from the traditional rules of law firm floor plan design and programing which brings more natural light into the office. Existing materials which included terracotta block walls and terrazzo floors were embraced and highlighted in the new design. The color palette is an expression of the Varnum logo colors and create a perfect balance with the inherent material palette.
